Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor Training in Port Canaveral
The Alaska Marine Safety Education Association (AMSEA) will offer a Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor Course in Cape Canaveral , Florida on April 5-6, 8:00AM to 5:00PM, at USCG Port Canaveral, IMOC Building 640 Magellan Rd. Cape Canaveral, FL 32920. The class is free for commercial fishermen and $225.00 (including sales tax) for all others.

The class will cover sea survival skills; EPIRBs, signal flares, and mayday calls; man-overboard recovery; fire fighting; flooding and damage control; dewatering pumps, immersion suits and PFDs, helicopter rescue, life rafts, abandon ship procedures, and emergency drills. AMSEA’s Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor workshops meet the U.S. Coast Guard training requirements for drill conductors on commercial fishing vessels, 46 CFR 28.270 (c).
This Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor class is an excellent opportunity for commercial fishermen and other mariners to gain hands-on training with marine safety equipment and learn best practices for surviving emergencies at sea. Participants qualify for up to $95 off the purchase price of their next PFD.
